As a Christian liberal arts college, Milligan College seeks to honor God by
educating men and women to be servant-leaders. The college offers programs of
study leading to undergraduate and graduate degrees. The college places emphasis
on faith in Christ; a commitment to follow the teachings of the Christian Scripture;
the capacity to recognize and assume responsibility in Society; the knowledge,
meaning and application of sound scholarship; preparation for securing an enriched
quality of life; and participation in the activities of a healthy lifestyle.
One of the oldest institutions in Carter County (dating back to 1866), Milligan’s
vision is to help students form a Christian world view and develop leaders who
are prepared to serve and influence society, to rise in the ranks of academic
reputation—appealing to students with a strong potential for Christian
leadership and to become an influential force among Christian churches, preparing
